Zelaia Berria now has state-of-the-art LED floodlights. The project, funded with support from Getxo Town Council and the club’s sponsors, replaces the old pylons with low-consumption, high-uniformity lights.
The new lighting cuts electricity use by 55% and improves visibility across the whole pitch, especially on the flanks. It also includes a scheduled switching system so lights are not left on outside training hours.
The club took the opportunity to review drainage and repaint the pitch lines. The work was carried out without disrupting the academy’s training sessions.
The official opening will take place on 21 November before the senior team’s match.
