A comeback to keep dreaming
The senior team produce a huge second half to overturn a 0-2 deficit at Zelaia Berria (3-2).
Three goals in twenty minutes. That is what Itsasalde needed to turn around a game that had become uphill before half-time. Leioa had taken advantage of two lapses to lead 0-2, but the team never stopped believing.
The introduction of Nahia Kortazar after the break changed the game. The forward pinned the opposition defence and opened space for Uxue Beristain to dictate from midfield. The first goal came from a direct free kick; the second from a measured cross to the far post; and the third in stoppage time after a fine move down the right.
The team showed what they are made of. This is not just a win: it confirms that this group competes until the end.
With this result, the senior team move up to fourth and go into the next matchday full of confidence. On Sunday they visit Athletic B at Lezama.
